Day 1: Fresh, crisp and perfect The pigment will appear very sharp and dark immediately after the procedure. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin, and has not yet settled in completely. Your brow area may feel tender and slightly […]
Scars Scars are very unpredictable and cannot be perfectly “colored” during the first procedure. With scar tissue there’s no hair growth because it lacks the glands that produce oil and hair. Microblading can help cover scars and fill in any gaps where hair no longer […]
Microblading is also known as eyebrow feathering, eyebrow embroidering, or eyebrow micropigmentation. It is a form of permanent makeup BUT it is considered semi-premanent. Unlike a tattoo which uses a machine, microblading uses a manual instrument with a small row of fine needles. With this instrument, pigment is deposited in the Stratum basale, which divides the epidermis and dermis layer of the skin. It takes about 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about a month for the color to fully set in.
Since the color is deposited closer to the skin’s surface, the strokes will appear more fine without the block-like look. Also, microblading fades beautifully without turning blue, gray, or red. The treatment lasts up to 3 years but a touch-up is recommended every 12-18 months for color enhancement. So in the long run you can change your brow shape and stay current with the brow trends.
Tattooing uses an handheld machine that continuously drives pigment into the dermis layer of the skin where the nerves and blood vessels are. This method is permanent because the pigment goes beneath the epidermis and just sits there because the pigment particles are too big to be eaten by the white blood cells. Getting a tattoo for the brows creates the solid block like appearance. It’s not as natural and will fade to blue, gray, green, or red color overtime. Several laser treatments or salt and saline treatments can remove the tattoo. It takes about 2-4 weeks for the skin to heal and will last 20 years later but will have fading.
