Microblading Healing Process

Microblading Healing Process

Day 1: Fresh, crisp and perfect

The pigment will appear very sharp and dark immediately after the procedure. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin, and has not yet settled in completely. Your brow area may feel tender and slightly swollen.  With the newly enhanced shape and richer color, your brows may look really big or dramatic. While some are people are completely ok with this, others will have a very hard time.  Just breathe, give it time and trust the process.

Days 2-5: Oxidized, dark and filled in appearance

Pigment reaches darkest level on day two so your brows may appear way too dark and thick. But don’t freak out! They will lighten again.

Days 5-9: Peeling flaking and shedding a top layer

The color of the pigment will soften gradually.  For some, it might look like the pigment disappeared revealing no visible color in skin. Again, just breathe and trust the process. Do not be alarmed if you see some pigment on the cotton swab, as this is excess pigment and/or lymph exiting the skin. Once the healing of the skin starts taking place, it will look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. This might give you the impression that the color pigment is fading too quickly. However, this is just superficial color and dry skin naturally sloughing off from your eyebrows. Your brows may develop some undesirable scabbing. DO NOT PICK! I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT PICK.

Days 9-10: Strokes surrounded by white, milky fresh skin, brows appear faded

Your brows will appear like they are completely gone or have fallen off during this time.  Don’t worry, they will still be there! And this is also why it’s important to have your touch up.

Days 11-30: New skin heals around the strokes and the color and shape comes back to the surface, brows are back but patchy

Pigment in skin continues to oxidize and the hair strokes begin to reappear with some strokes looking patchy. Your brows will appear incomplete during this part of the healing process. Most of these patches will fill in over time and the touch up will help fill them in.
